A Great Failure
Sorry I missed Friday the 13th, I was gonna do a scary cartoon. Oh well, I hope you guys had fun. Saturday I rented the 2010 Yogi Bear movie. Dan Akroyd played as Yogi, and I quite enjoyed the film. Was it perfect? No, now let me tell why. First of all, this film feels so rushed. They give you no explanation to who Yogi or Boo Boo are. The movie no doubt believes that everyone knows who Yogi Bear is. Well, second of all, this movie has real good CGI animation. The actors interact with the animated bears really good. It seems like the cartoon creatures are actually real. Another thing, the film has the worse green-screen effects ever! You can always tell that the backgrounds are fake in certain scenes. Besides these things, the film is good. It has a decent plot, on and off acting, but one of the oddest villains ever. The evil mayor is unbelievably fake and mediocre. His motives are fine, as is his acting, but having an evil politician is a stretch. Plus, they make a love story between Ranger Smith and a new girl. It's half decent, but I wish they didn't include it. Yogi and Boo Boo are really entertaining. They can be funny at times, and always fun to watch. Their two actors do good representing them. so, all in all, the film is a mixed bag. If you can ignore the bad green screen effects and half good acting, it can be good. If you see these things as flaw, you may not like this. I give Yogi Bear a 3 out of 5, for being a mediocre film all the way.
